Toronto-born singer Emilie-Claire Barlow got an early start to her prolific career, doing television voice-overs and radio jingles at age 7. Since 1998 she's released a string of albums, hypnotizing critics and audiences alike with her pitch-perfect ethereal voice. In 2007, she launched The Very Thought of You, an album of jazz and bossa nova standards. In the same year, she drew notice at the Festival. In 2008 Barlow was named female artist of the year at the National Jazz Awards.
